Expand with the space bar or markers

You can select whether to expand with the space bar or with marker keys — this is one of the numerous options letting you customize almost every aspect of the program.

The image below shows the panel where you can make these choices:

Those who have worked with earlier programs such as PRD or Autocorrect can emulate the behavior of these programs and expand with the space bar and other punctuation marks. It is possible to use the same keys as in PRD.

In addition, Instant Text allows the choice of marker keys for expansion. Markers provide a better control on when to expand. They reduce the risks of unintentional expansion, especially when dealing with very large glossaries — Note that an Instant Text glossary may have more than a million entries!
