Why Instant Text Assistive

Designed for Commercial Markets

Instant Text was designed as a general purpose input system for commercial markets. Its initial targets were medical transcriptionists - a group of some of the fastest typists in the world - and then, the legal profession, help desk engineers and similar specialties.

Why is that important to the Assistive Technology world?

First, because the stability and reliability of Instant Text has had to meet the expectations of the commercial marketplace. Second, the expectations of the commercial world for constant improvements and additions through the release of new revisions also must be met. And third, Instant Text, through updates, takes full advantage of the power of the latest platforms.

And, of course, the price.

Instant Text, for all it is and all it does, is very modestly "commercially" priced. In that regard, it is like Word, or WordPerfect (which may be used with it), and similar broadly-based commercial products used so successfully by those with assistive needs.
