Hi, Marsha -

After all these years, you would think the word processing developers would have figured out a way for us to "set" our text scrolling so that we never get "stuck" on the last line of a page. Meanwhile, we have to fend for ourselves. :)

I have been using this short for many years, and I use it even more now that nearly all of my work is editing AI:

du = {Down 5}{Up 5}{NoSpacing}

It works great! I have an even faster way of getting to it, but that's a story for another post. But I think you'll find this one very handy.

EDITED TO ADD:

1. If you do this in a scenario where there are no or fewer than five blank lines ahead, nothing will happen, the same way as if you manually moved your arrow key down and up 5 times.

2. It leaves your cursor in the same position as when you started.

3. I have experimented over the years with different numbers of lines, and I have found five to be the sweet spot. But you do you. If you want more or less, the total number of lines is up to you!

:)
