I agree -- I think a-az is a great idea. I have always had a little trouble with remembering which were in the glossary under the abab rule and which were just regular, IT-created short forms.
With a-az this does not require a special rule: it just follows from the fact that you start with aa.
This pretty much takes care of the problem as you start off with the IT method anyway.
I think the abab method is great when you really know what is in the glossary. Unfortunately, the need to constantly change glossaries depending on what is being transcribed (even if it is just the includes that are different) makes remembering difficult.
It would be absolutely wonderful to be able to chose this rule when creating a glossary, although I imagine that would be a pretty ambitious undertaking.
