Shift+Space instead of Space Shift
JCG, There is not enough information in your message to make a proper guess or to be able to reproduce what you are describing. However, one problem we encountered recently looks very vaguely similar. It is the occasional shifting for the next letter before releasing the space bar! Now see what happens when this is done: You want to type: blabla: «space»«space»«Shift+a»nother... But - thumbs not being the most agile fingers... -, assume you end up typing the following: blabla: «space»«space+Shift»another... Now, Instant Text interprets «Shift+space» as the equivalent of an escape so that you end up with: blabla: «space»another... We had this problem recently reported by one of our major clients and we provided them with a special version allowing the disabling of «Shift+space» for those who tend to anticipate shifting after a space and the problem disappeared immediately.
