Here are some helpful vocabulary definitions:
Compilation is where IT reads the documents on your computer to create a brand new glossary consisting of the words and phrases compiled from the selected documents.
Enrich is a fast way to add several entries to an existing glossary without having to add them all one at a time.
Merge is when you take two or more existing glossaries and combine them together to make one glossary file. Merge is a permanent change made to the glossaries.
Includes is a way to use more than one glossary at a time without making a permanent change to the glossaries. At any time you can separate the included glossary again.
Is Enrich or Include part of the merging process? In other words, if I have glossary A with enriches, and glossary B without enriches, if I merge the two to make glossary C, will that include the enriches or Includes from glossary A?
When you merge, you are taking two or more glossaries and combining them to one unique file. As the Enrich is an addition to the existing glossary, it is part of the merge process because the merge is taking all entries of Glossary A to combine them with all entries of Glossary B into one unique glossary.
The Includes are not a permanent change made to the glossary so it is not part of the merge process - that is likely the cause of the error that you are experiencing.
Kind regards,
Kristen
