Field codes

I have a template saved as a phrase. I have now added field codes using directions from an earlier post. I went into the
Glossary Viewer, highlighted entry, clicked Edit.
In Edit window, placed cursor where I want the field code, clicked command, pressed Ctrl with F9, clicked ok, clicked command again and pressed end key, clicked ok.

Everything looks fine in IT, I expand it in 2007 Word, and then my sentences are mixed up. As an example the first two paragraphs are what I want expanded:

My dog likes to eat his dinner right before going to bed for the night in his wonderful doghouse outside.

The airplane took off at (field code) before he could catch the taxi from the office.

This is what I get in word;

My dog likes to eat his dinner right before going to bed for the night the airplane took off at (field code) in his wonderful doghouse outside.before he could catch the taxi for the office.

When I expanded it in Notepad,it was fine. Do you know what could be happening? Sorry it is so long, but I am better at explaining with examples.
