Labels are actually a Table format.
Text does not flow from label to label (or cell to cell). Also, cells in a table are designed to grow with the amount of text unless you format a set size. You can set up linked text boxes so text will flow. Look up text box in Word's Help file for instructions. This is something that you are going to have to "play" with to get the desired results with your specific printer.
