I've tested your entry and can press Ctrl + Enter after DT: 12/24/07 and the second expansion is at the left margin with no extra tab settings.
Place your cursor anywhere in the line with the extra tab you see, then go to Format/Tabs and see if you have additional tab settings in the document (or template).
You might want to go to the top articles here (Cheryl's Articles) and see how to format hanging indents in SOAP notes. Ctrl + Tab is used in tables to tab within a cell. In your case, Tab is all that is necessary.
