Normal.dot should not be "shared" with others unless

it is a separate file on separate computers.

The AutoCorrect options are stored in Word's registry. If settings are not sticking, it usually means an add-in is blocking them from being saved. Adobe Acrobat and the Norton Office Plug-in can cause this.
