Tried and Tried

Thanks Cheryl, I've searched the web and this is the same response I've received time and again. Unfortunately it just isn't working. My normal.dot loads but "compatibility" does't show in the title bar and all of the keyboard shortcuts are there. However, when I close Word, there is again a normal.dotm and my normal.dot is also in the templates folder. Any idea what might be going on here? I've tried this in both XP and Windows 7.
