Instant Text Assistive Features

Dyslexics and Phonetic Typing

People with mild dyslexia, or even just bad spellers, can benefit from Instant Text in a unique way: Phonetic Typing.

With Instant Text, you can type by just entering the first letter of each syllable! You can even omit syllables if you're not sure. This is a feature inherent in the way Instant Text works, and can make difficult words very easy to spell correctly.

Take, for example, maneuver

You can sound it out ma... neu... ver... Then type it phonetically, mnv and you will get the right word! You could also get this word by typing mnr or mvr or mnvr

Sound it out, then just type what you hear!

Take, for another example, trigonometry. Just type the beginning letters of syllables: trig... go... no... metry...

You have several choices of syllables. You can get the same word by trg or tgy or try or any other combination. You just need the first letter, and keep the syllables in the right order.

Another way Instant Text speeds typing of dyslexics and bad spellers is by giving correctly spelled choices. Often, people with mild dyslexia are slow typists for a very good reason that has nothing to do with their typing ability: They must stop and analyze the spelling of each word before typing it.

Even very good typists slow down occasionally to analyze a specific word or two. With Instant Text, just type what you think, and when you recognize the correct spelling, just expand it and keep going.
