Linking Indicator

The colored round light at the right of the Instant Text caption indicates whether Instant Text is currently linked to a Client Application: when linked Instant Text will listen to keystrokes and display glossary entries in the advisories, that can be expanded.

Instant Text Linked

A round green light appears when Instant Text is linked to a client application.

Instant Text is preset to link automatically to all applications. If you don't want to link to a given client application you may suspend the link using the Ctrl+/L keyboard shortcut. You may also use the Client Configurator to specify that you don't want to use Instant Text at all with the current client application. Note that Instant Text remembers your most recently used Linking preferences for client applications and applies them automatically each time it encounters the same client application again.

Instant Text Link Suspended

A round orange light appears when Instant Text is linked to a client application but the link is currently suspended

When the linking is suspended, the only keyboard shortcut Instant Text will react to is Ctrl+/. Hence Linking can be resumed using the Ctrl+/L shortcut. But while the Linking is suspended, the advisories will remain empty and no glossary entries will be expanded.

Instant Text Unlinked

A round red light appears when Instant Text is unlinked.

When Instant Text is unlinked from a client application it will not interact at all while you type.
