On second thought...

I think I'll just create separate gender-specific formatted entries (I don't need to change font but need a numbered list with some bolding) instead of trying to fiddle around with a pick list. I don't need to do this very often, luckily.

I am familiar with the Wait statements (I'm a long-time IT 7 user) and have used them before.
