I had a couple potential options in mind for your final solution, and gender-specific entries was definitely one of them! In some instances, it definitely makes sense to do that rather than use a PickList or QuickPick or Stop/Resume. That would definitely solve your problem of trying to get variable information into the formatted entry.
Meanwhile, have fun exploring all the fun new things you can do in IT9. IT7 was magical enough, but IT9 takes the magic to a whole new level!
