WIN XP and Word 2003--

Just got a new computer with WIN XP and Word 2003. I cannot figure out how to get my normal.dot file to run. I have looked at the Microsoft "help" and still couldn't figure it out. My .ACL and CUSTOM.DIC seem to be operating just fine. Can you help?
