1. No, that pattern of 4 numbers followed by at least 1 letter is NOT consistent for all entries. I can have entries with 2 numbers followed by 2 letters (like for 10 years ago, which would be 10ya), etc. The only consistency is that all entries start with numbers.

2. Yes, pretty much all entries relate to time in some way.

3. My glossary contains 1223 entries.

4. I want display to look like 10-12 hours

Karen, I really appreciate you trying to help me with this. It's not the end of the world if I can't edit my glossary to en dashes instead of hyphens. Nobody is asking me to change anything. It's my Virgo perfectionism kicking in. :)
