If the problem is only with these specific templates,

you need to check with the company that created them. Your normal.dot would not affect these templates.

There could be several reasons they are slow to open. There may be corruption in those templates. Are there macros in the templates that could cause slow opening of documents? Are they true templates (.dot files) and did you place them in the correct template folder?
