Override Automatic Capitalization

To override Automatic Capitalization, use the keys Ctrl+9 to toggle automatic capitalization on and off. You can also turn off automatic capitalization permanently using the Automatic Capitalization Options Dialog.

For a single key, you can also press Shift+Space (or equivalently, Escape) before typing the key. For example, typing a at the start of a paragraph will produce A with automatic capitalization. To obtain a press Shift+Space before typing the a.

There are several other ways to cancel the capitalization by resetting the Instant Text context:

When the Instant Text context is reset, Instant Text forgets about what was typed before and hence about the need to capitalize; basically Instant Text behaves as if it were just started.

One trick that works in most applications and that takes care of both,

is to hit Shift+Backspace instead of Backspace.

Inhibit Capitalization After An Expansion

You can inhibit capitalization after an expansion by adding a trailing vertical bar ("|") at the end of the Long form of your glossary entry.
