Shorts Glossary

If you are using Markers to expand, you may as well skip this page as the Shorts Glossary is only used when you are using Phrase Expanders to expand, which is the case when you expand with the space bar for example.

The Shorts Glossary is a special glossary that is automatically included in all glossaries of the Glossary List in order to avoid unwanted expansions. An example is probably the best way to show how it works.

Imagine you have the following Phrase Entry in your Current Glossary:

Short form Long form

we

without ectopy

You may want to type the pronoun we followed by a space, and instead you get without ectopy followed by a space. To avoid this, you need the following Shorts Glossary Entry in your Shorts Glossary:

Short form Long form

we

we

The Shorts Glossary is always automatically included before the entries of your Current Glossary. As a result:

we

we

will be displayed before

we

without ectopy

Hence, you can type we followed by a space without fearing to end up with an unwanted expansion.

If we want to expand without ectopy, we can still type we followed by the digit 2 and a space (see line number selection).

The Shorts Glossary contains entries for all the short words such as we, asis, on, of, ...
